Taking care of your Susimust pieces is easy! And less is more when it comes to caring for these high performance garments/fabrics.

Here is what you can do to make your activewear look as good as new for longer:

  • Wash in cool water and on a gentle spin cycle.
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Avoid ironing if at all possible. And definitely do not iron the logos!
  • Hang to dry. No tumble drying!
  • No dry cleaning.

Let us explain...

Washing and detergent...

Wash your garments as rarely as possible and as soon as needed!

After an intense workout and a lot of sweating, wash your clothes as soon as possible to avoid bacteria lingering and leaving behind an unpleasant smell.

Turn your garments inside out and/or put into a washing bag.

Make sure to use the correct amount of detergent when washing. The correct amount depends on how hard/soft the water is in your area, how dirty your clothes and the type of detergent you are using. So, read the bottle!

Cool water temperature in washing...

By cool we mean temperatures around the 30 C mark. Cool water temperature helps to keep the colours fresh and bright for longer and it also helps to avoid shrinkage of the fabric.

And it’s better for the environment! Using modern day detergents there is just no need to go any higher than 30C.

The less spin after wash the better...

Intense spinning in the washing machine will tire out the fabric quicker, so use lower spin cycles (those that are normally set aside for silks and woollens).

But do spin or you will be washing your floor...

No fabric softener...

Fabric softener can affect the elasticity and wicking properties of your high performance fabrics.

So, help your Susimust pieces perform for longer and do not use any fabric softener when washing your activewear. (We know how good the softeners smell, but still!)

No bleaching...

Obviously. No good can come of bleaching your beautiful Susimust pieces.

No tumble drying...

All heat processes reduce the life expectancy of fibres. Especially the high performance kind. Tumble drying is a passive killer of your activewear. Stay away!

Hang to dry...

So good for your activewear. Most pieces will dry very quickly, since they are made of quick dry fabrics. They will be soft and good looking, ready to be worn again straight after drying.

Avoid ironing if at all possible...

Most activewear will be as good as new after drying hanging. So, no need to iron.

If you must iron – use a cool iron (one dot, no more!) and iron from the inside.

Definitely do not iron the logos, as these might get damaged when coming into contact with your iron. And your iron will get damaged too.

As we said earlier, all heat processes reduce the life expectancy of your garments. So, less is more. No ironing is even better.

No dry cleaning...

Washing following the correct instructions will give better results on our high performance fabrics than dry cleaning ever could.

Dry cleaning could actually harm the fabric, print etc.
